What is biddat in Islam? Is all form of magic(done using the Quran) bad?
All form of Magic is not bad. Magic which is used to Harm others or the one which involves any form of prohibited activites as mentioned in Quran 7:33 would be considered Haram. Although using Quran for Magic which harms others is not possible, but there can be some positive spiritual benefis reaped from reading Quran as a supplementary thing because of its divine nature and the way it affects nafs or human soul in a divine way. If someone is reciting Quranic veres for such benefits based on their personal experience, then they could do that if they like. But it should always be kept in mind that the primary purpose of Quran is Inzar and Tazkir.
