    Taking Name Of God Before Eating Plant?

    If the reason for taking the name of God before slaughtering an animal is the sanctity of life as per Ghamidi Sahab (Al-Bayan), then why don’t we do the same with plants? After all, they are also counted among the living things!
    I shall be very grateful if someone can please guide me in this regard!

    Plant is not life like animals. They are not at the same conscious level with the animal.

    Slaughtering is a brutal act, which is countered by taking the name of God to remind ourselves that we do it with the permission of God. This brutality is not there in the case of plants.
