Assalam Alaikum. I need help resolving this:

In Surah An-Najm 53:38, it says:

“That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another”

(Also, the same is reiterated in 35:18, 39:7, 17:15, 6:164)

..Except in one place, i.e. in 16:25 it says:

“That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.”

    Please help resolve this confusion.

    JazakAllah Khair,

    Hasan

The first one means that no one can relieve another from the burden of his sins by taking his sins on him. The second means that those who caused others to go astray will carry the burden of the sins of their followers too because they are the cause of their sin.
