    Assalamualaikum, hello there,

my question is that there’s a mobile game called “call of war” in which we are given a nation in the start of round, and we become president of that nation. then gather resources build Infrastructure and army and use that army to attack other countries and capture their cities and provinces for more resources. in the end the country with most provinces wins. so if for example I have country of France and I capture a province/city of Germany called Berlin. so in the games newspaper the headlines comes “Berlin has fallen”. and in the map Berlin is shown as having clouds of smoke from explosions.

in this game as different countries are there, so there’s also city of Madina under the map of saudia Arabia.

so keeping things in mind would it be halal to play game or not?

If the war is made for justified reasons or no reason told at all, then you can play it. because it is not real, of course.

@Irfan76 but sir there’s a chance that someone with some other country attacks the player of saudia Arabia in the same game session I’m playing, and maybe the capture the 2 holy cities. there’s no hint of game being anti Muslim or Islam but they are keeping all things in general geographic terms

Your sensitivity to the holy cities can decide what to do in that case.

@Irfan76 but sir if someone still plays it just as a normal game, would be be sinful?

It shows his lack of sensitivity. It is sinful or not will be judged according to his understanding and perception.

@Irfan76 sir just to make it clear that he’s not the one who is attacking any city that is holy. he is attacking other countries of Europe and Africa or Russia etc but just in that same game session someone else with another country is attacking those cities etc. the guy himself for example controls Germany and is attacking other countries of Europe not saudia etc himself. so still it would be counted as lack of sensitivity?

No. It is then just a game. but better one should not involve or let others involved in something holy.

@Irfan76 okay sir, in this game the timeline is same as of world war 2 and countries are taken by players. if someone plays as Germany, then the player is shown in the game to be the head of the country. the country’s flag is also shown to be same as at that era. the flag of Germany consist of a cross which has a root to the Christianity cross. although in game, there’s nothing shown as the player of Germany promoting Christianity or representing Christianity. nor anything like promoting Nazism. no country is shown promoting their ideology. the only thing is the timeline is shown of 1939, which means the geographical maps, and technology of armies is of the same era. the flags are also of same era. so keeping this things in mind, if someone plays as Germany, player shown as head of Germany and the German flag consisting of cross. would it be allowed to play? would it be halal?

As told earlier, to be halal or not depends upon something objectionable or not. if you think there is nothing objectionable you can play and if find something objectionable you should stop.

Islamically is not different from ethically objectionable. If you find anything ethically objectionable then it will be Haram otherwise not.
