Adopted Child And Name Of Foster Parents On Marriage Form
If someone adopts a child right after their birth from someone they know, and the child’s biological parents are alive, but the adopting couple didn’t have a child of their own, and hence they adopted. In all documents, the name of the adopting parents is mentioned, and for this reason, when the girl got married, her marriage (nikkah) papers also had the names of her adopted parents. As far as I have listened to Ghamidi Sahab and read in the Quran, it is written that a child’s identity cannot be hidden. The girl was told from day one who her real parents are and since they are relatives, it’s evident she meets them. Now the question is, is there any religious issue in having the adopted parent’s names on the marriage papers and identity documents?
Will be thankful if you share answer with relevant evidence from Quran or explanation by Ghamidi Sahab.
