Assalamu Alaikum, a) seeing and taking chunks of other company’s websites/landing page and mixing and creating a new landing page will still be called stealing? I heard that the party or owner of the website should make it copyrighted. If its available for public, it can still be copied.

    b) But my question also includes, can we only take inspiration from their work or can we exactly copy (parts of the landing pages or websites) to make our own?

    c) If its stealing, should the person leave this company/job?

The absence of a copyright notice does not automatically mean that a website’s content can be legally copied. In most countries, copyright protection is automatically granted to original creative works, including websites, when they are first created. While a copyright notice can provide additional legal benefits, it is not a requirement for copyright protection.

Generally, even if a web site does not have a copyright notice, it has a web pages outlining its Terms of Use. If in doubt, it is a good practice to contact the website owner and ask for permission to use their content.

There is no problem in taking inspiration from a web site to create your own, or even to look at its public code to see how it does something specific.

As far as quitting a job that requires one to steal is concerned, please know that in such matters religion provides relaxation on the basis of iztirar. In other words, if it is a life and death situation then the religious prohibition is temporarily removed. In other cases, one shall be held accountable for their unethical actions.
