  • Can Women Enter The Masjid During The Menstruation Cycle ?

Posted by Usama Ahmed on October 24, 2023 at 5:45 am

Aoa. InshaAllah we are going for Umrah soon, and it could be that my wife might have her menstruation cycle in the early days. In this situation, We are prepared to wait out a few days in Makkah, and she will perform Umrah afterwards.

    1. Her question is, can she enter the Masjid al Haram during the menstruation cycle, do the zikr while sitting there ?

    2. In case she has the periods during the flight, she wont be obligated to enter the state of Ihram while in flight (Meqat). she will spend the days without the state of Ihram. After these days are gone, Go to the nearest Miqat Point and from there she will have to enter the state of Ihram. Is this Correct ?

    Thanks in advance

    2. For Umrah, those coming from outside Makkah should put on the ihram from their respective miqat; locals whether they are Makkans or are temporarily staying in Makkah should put it on from some nearby place located outside the limits of the Haram. And those who live outside the limits of Haram but are located within the miqat their miqat is their place of residence. They can put on the ihram from their homes and begin reciting the talbiyah.

For Further Details, You can refer to the following portion on Hajj and Umra in Ghamidi Sahab’s book Meezan:
