There is no mention of the difference of responsibility between son and daughter in the Quran and Shariah. It is a natural division that usually daughters after their marriages leave their father’s house. They serve their in-laws which is their first priority. This is not the case with sons, therefore, sons are supposed to serve their parents more than daughters. However, whoever is present and available to the parents is supposed to serve them when they need them. Due to the different capacities of daughters and sons, the nature of their serving is different. For example in cases of toilet-related matters, a male should serve a male and a female to a female.
