Quran only mentions four signs/predictions of events happening in future:
1. Smoke (Dukhan) – 44:10-11 (Could be global warming according to Dr Abdul Rashid Agwan, an Indian scholar)
2. Creature from Earth (Dabba min al-ard) – 27:82 (Could be computer according to Edip-Layth translation, Footnote 8 to 27:82 in “Quran: A reformist translation”).
3. Yajuj Majuj- 18:98 & 21:96 (According to Tabari and Asad, refers to Mongols and Tatars who invaded almost every part of the known world during Abbasid era. Footnotes to above verses in Asad’s translation.
4. Splitting of moon (Shaq ul Qamar) – 54:1 (A future event according to Raghib, Zamakhshari, Asad, Edip Yuksel. According to Yuksel, it refers to humans landing on moon and taking out some rocks as samples, as splitting does not necessarily mean splitting in half).
These are the only signs or predictions in Quran about future events happening before the end of times. Most of the other signs mentioned in Hadith/history books and ascribed incorrectly to Prophet are fabricated including Dajjal, Mehdi, Hazrat Isa descending, Ghazva e Hind, Malhamatul Uzma etc.
