  • Surah Al Maidah V117 Interpretation By Ghamidi Saheb

    Assalamualaikum!
    I have listened to the 23 questions series regarding Nuzool e Maseeh (AS), and therefore have listened to Ghamidi saheb’s interpretation of the last verses of Surah Al Maidah as well as Hasan Ilyas saheb’s questions on that particular interpretation.

    Speaking from my heart and of course I can be wrong, that interpretation doesn’t seem to be in conjunction with the words used by Allah swt Himself.
    Let’s look at it:
    Verse 117: “……. Or main in par gawah Raha jb tak in main mujood Raha, Phir jb to ne mujhe utha Lia, to tu hi in par nigraan Raha, or tu to har cheez pr gawah hi hai”
    Interpretation: Ghamidi Saheb says it was necessary for Jesus to have mentioned his second coming had he been sent again just before Qayamah.
    And he is necessarily NOT talking about the followers of his age since this falsehood occured hundreds of years after him.
    Problem: Still, it doesn’t necessitate the fact that he wasn’t sent again BECAUSE he could simply have talked about the people who began these false accusations on him and his mother hundreds of years after him, uptil the people just before his second coming!
    Why does Ghamidi saheb assume it was necessary for second coming to have been mentioned at this point?
    His sole point is based on lack of mentioning in this ayat, and a lack of something doesn’t negate it all together, does it?
    In the 23 questions series, he insists again and again on the words he’s attributing to Jesus (AS) while explaining verse 117, “Main nahi jaanta us k baad inhon ne Kia Kiya”……. But these words aren’t said by Jesus even once in that ayat!!!

    @UmerQureshi
    Would be grateful if you guys explain the highlighted part to me. Explanation by anyone else is also welcomed.
    Jazak Allah!

    وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

    I watched over them as long as I remained among them. Then when You gave death to me, after that You have remained the Watcher over them and You are a witness to all things.

    If Jesus had come again, it was necessary at this point to mention that he would have mentioned that he contributed to correcting them and he witnessed their falsehood. “I do not know what they did” is implied here because he says I watched over them as long as I was there, and when you gave me death, you know what they did. The word Tawaffaitani means you gave me death is explicit in its meaning. He could not come back after his death.
