Some translations of Quran in English translate as Usury. How can we tell which translation is correct. Do Islam prohibit interest, usury or compound interest. How do we objectively distinguish?

Riba is a well-known Arabic word and the practice of Riba is present in almost every language and culture. It can be named as usuary or comparatively the modern name as interest or in Urdu Sood. All of them convey the same meaning. Every addition on loan money is Riba no matter whether it is single or compound.
