Argue not with the People of the Book except in the fairest manner, unless it be those of them that are utterly unjust. Say to them: “We believe in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to you. One is our God and your God; and we are those who submit ourselves to Him.” ankabut ayat 46

What does our and your God is one mean in this verse? Does it mean that we and you worship the same God?

It is a way to tell and appropriate at this point. Different styles are used in language and the author chooses the most appropriate according to the situation. Since some people of the book attribute to God the traits when the Muslims do not do, it was appropriate to say that our God is the same as yours.

So in actual those traits that they apply to God aren’t really the same we believe in so it is a way to convince them?

the attributes of God are the same in the beliefs of both, only they assume an action of God that he incarnated into a person, or he assumed a form of a person, which is, of course, not a common belief.

What does “one” in the ayat actually mean does it mean that it is denying the attributes or action they believe about God which we don’t and saying that God is only one, or does the “One” in ayat depicts that we have the same God? And doesn’t the action they say about God makes their belief about Allah false? Means it isn’t the truth about Allah

It means the same one God. They too believe in One God. Additionally, they believe in more than one manifestation of God which is what we do not believe. since initially the origin of the belief is the same, therefore, emphasis is on the common belief that God is one. Additional belief is denied.
