A pen that has no brand name sells for 10 rupees but the same pen is sold for 1000 rupees by merely branding. Is this deception?

People buy a particular brand because with higer price, it also offers better quality. Merely branding a product does not make it worthy of purchase. Brands usually earn peoples trust with better products and better services in order to establish a permanent customer base. Islam does not put a restriction on setting price of products, instead it prefers the free market forces to determine price of a particular product.
