Assalamualaikum!
Is it shirk to call for help from a saint (physically alive or not) while you’re far away, while bearing in mind that he’s Allah’s creation and all his abilities are from Allah swt?

If Allah had told us that He had assigned this kind of job to someone, only then we could have called that person to help us, instead of God. On the contrary, God has told us that He did not share His authority and powers with anyone else. Now to assume that God might have done that is a lie, self-deception, and shirk.
