    Wouldn’t this fall under ‘baghi’ (rebellion, arrogance, transgression) category. Instead of choosing to utilize my time in something that earns me God’s pleasure/qualifies me for his maghfirah/is beneficial for me both in this dunya and akhirah, i choose to do something which satisfies my own nafs?

    No games/entertainment are inherently prohibited unless they have an element of immorality in them. The element of ‘ithm’ or ‘baghi’ can kick in if one chooses to indulge in such games at the expense of his duties towards other human beings or God.
