  • Evoking Emotions In Product Packaging To Encourage People To Buy

For example, a chocolate that the person didn’t intend to buy when entering a store but due to the emotional appeal on its packaging that evokes emotions of luxury, and delicacy, he buys it. Brands evoke emotions to affect people on subconscious level and they buy things that at first they didn’t even need. For example, coca cola is not a need so they created their commercials in a way to make people buy it and add it to their lives. Companies play with people’s emotions on subconscious level and the customers don’t even realize that it is their subconscious that is mainly driving their decisions. Is this deception or anything wrong?

It is not ethically wrong to ask people to buy their products. Deception is when someone tells a lie about their product.
