Hadith About 999 Out Of 1000 In Hell Will Be From Gog Magog
Imām Bukħārī quotes in number 3348 that Allah تعالى will say to Ādam عليه السلام:—
“أخرج بعث النار، قال وما بعث النار، قال من كل ألف تسعمئة وتسعة وتسعون”
“Take out the share of Hell (from the people). He said “and what is the share of Hell?” He said “Nine hundred and ninety nine out of every thousand.”
So, when the Ṣaḥābah showed wonder at this, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:—
“أبشروا فإن منكم رجل ومن يأجوج ومأجوج ألف”
“Be rejoiced! The single man is among you, and the thousand (almost) are from Gogs Magogs.”
And then:—
“ما أنتم في الناس إلا كالشعرة السوداء في جلد ثَور أبيض، أو كشعرة بيضاء في جلد ثور أسود”
“You are out of the total humanity like a single black hair on the skin of a white bull, or like a single white hair on the skin of a black ox.”
Is this Hadith is self-explanatory and sufficient? The 999 men are from Gogs and Magogs, in whom the ratio of those who will go to Hell is very high. What does this mean?

Yes, it is what it is. Most of the disbelievers will be from the peoples of Gog and Magog according to this narration as they are far more in number than the other nations.

Right. I have also learned from Ghamidi Sahib, and correct me if I’m wrong, that Gog and Magog are basically the Europeans/Aryan race ei Russians, Eastern European, Western European, these same people colonised and expanded to Americas, South Africa and oceana (Australia, New Zealand). In modern world we have seen a considerable number of these people embrace Islam too. How does that fit in here then?
Furthermore, given that there was also Aryan Invasion in south Asian/Iran/Afghanistan side around 4000 years ago where the Aryans intermingled with the people present in south Asia/Persia region and thus the Indo-Aryan race came to be (North Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sinhalese people). Does that mean that Afghans, Pakistanis, North Indians, Bangladeshis also be considered as being from Yajuj and Majuj? Plz clarify

In the subcontinent, there are some portions of Gog and Megaog, but they are mostly mixed up with the local people. But the ones among them who are true belivers will not go to hell, of course.

What are these mixed people called? Are they still called Gog and Magog, or does the Qur’an talk only about Gog and Magog who are not mixed?

It is about the majority of them. If they have mixed with others and lost their identity, and do not become part of the chaos Gog and Magog will cause, they would not be the subject of the prediction.

1. So, as I understand it from what you told me Irfan sir ghamidi sahab, and some other scholars say that people in today’s Russia, China, Europe, etc. can be linked to Gog and Magog. However, there are Muslims among them. So even people linked to Gog and Magog can go to Jannah if they are not part of chaos and corruption, accept the truth, and become Muslims.
2 Also, even if some people among Gog and Magog do not receive Islam properly or do not get a fair chance to understand it, but they are ethically and morally good and do good deeds according to their human nature, they still have a chance to go to Heaven.
Is my understanding correct, and is this the point of view of Ghamidi sahab and other scholars who believe Gog and Magog are humans from regions like Russia and China? Do they have different points of view, especially regarding Ghamidi sahab’s perspective?”
