    Assalamualaikum,

1: The word zikr in arabic means “Remember” or “mention”.

2: There is no example in this world where we remember someone by repeating same thing without any explanation. For example, Ghamidi Sahab is great(x100). Even Ghamidi Sahab will say, Tell me Why I am great.

3: Remembrance has to be from heart, and within heart, with explanation not just repeating, else it seems fake and against intellect with no purpose.

4: if someone is repeating “Astagfirulllah” x100, What will be purpose of just repeating without remembering our sins?. There will be no improvement if we don’t remember what is our sins and for what sins we are seeking forgiveness.

Conclusion is, Remembrance from heart means, lets say, We want to remember (zikr) “Astagfirullah” which means “I seek forgiveness”.

“I seek forgiveness” will be triggering thought and we will have to think about every thoughts that came after remembering “I seek forgiveness” only one time. In simple words. Going with flow after triggering thought.

Just repeating “I seek forgiveness” is fake and going with flow after triggering thought is, Remembrance of Allah from heart.

Please highlight if there is flaws in my premise.

There is no major flaw in the premise.

Following videos might also add to this:

Please refer to the video below from 1:27:53 to 1:30:44

I am not sure which video you might be referring to but this is not the view point of Ghamidi Sahab that “repeating is not remembrance“. According to him, repetition of tasbih at times help in attaining concentration and this is why Prophet Muhammad (sws) also prescribed some tasbihs with a little repetition. However, it is the actual conscious realization of reality behind those tasbihs which matter the most and one should first try to attain that otherwise it will be mere repetition and nothing else.
