Ghamidi Sahab ne iddat ki illat, sirf hamal ka zahir hona bayan farmaya he aur agar periods talaq ke elan ke agle din hi aa jaen tu illat poori ho gai aur iddat khatam ho gaey gi.

Is soorat me quran me diye gaey iddat ke ihkamaat, rajooh aur 3 periods/months ka ittelaq kaisey mumkin ho sakta he.

Kia iddat ki illat poori hone se iddat khatam ho jati he ya phir 3 periods/months bhi iddat ki illat me shumaar hona chahye.

Merely having one period is not conclusive enough to disprove pregnancy. Sometimes, even pregnant women get blood which looks just like period blood which is called “implantation bleeding” and sometimes “ovulation bleeding” is confused with periods. “Ecotopic Pregnancy” is also a form of pregnancy which causes period-like bleeding and requires immediate medical attention. There could be many other factors due to which one period is not an enough evidence to conclusively state that there is no pregnancy. Therefore, in order to remove all such doubts, however minor they may be, a period of three cycles has been kept in Sharia. However, if some conclusive method is available to prove no pregnancy, then ofcourse the ‘illah‘ of iddat directive would require its requirements to be waived.

Ruju‘ according to Ghamidi Sahab is not a primary reason for iddah, rather it is secondary benefit which is dependent on iddah. The basic purpose of iddah is to determine whether a lady is pregnant or not; that is why iddat of a pregnant lady is till the birth of child (Al-Talaq 65:6), whether it happens the very next day or after several months, so ruju period will be till the birth of that child as well. And when divorce happens before any intimacy between husband and wife, then there is no iddat and no ruju period as well.
