The world is created by Allah as a test for the hereafter and it is a basic requirement of this test that complete veil should not be lifted and one has to reach the truth on the basis of innate guidance given already by Allah which is then both reminded and confirmed by the prophets along with other details of the religion. Had complete guidance been directly given by Allah from the heavens then the integrity of the this test would not stay intact and the whole scheme of test would turn out to be a futile effort.
