    Assalamualaikum!

Ghamidi Saheb has done his work on collecting Hadith about the prophet SAW telling the dreams being 40th (or something) part of mansab e nabuwwat.

We all agree that the Hadith corpus, in its max capacity, provides only probable knowledge/ zanni ilm about the prophet saying or doing something.

If the dreams are really continued till the day as part of nabuwwat, then why does Sufis believing in Ilhaam make it unIslamic? It is very likely that Ilhaam was also part of the narration but somehow omitted while being transmitted due to some reason.

I mean, if something probable is tells us that dreams as part of nabuwwat still continue, then it is also likely that other means are also continued to the day (like Ilhaam) as Sufis say.

Doesn’t that put the Quran’s whole concept of khatm e nabuwwat in contradiction with what the Hadith are telling.

True dreams are only about some true events. The truth of these dreams can only be confirmed after the event has occured. Therefore true dreams have a very limited scope about some events only.

The likelihood doesn’t not constitute a premise for an argument. It has to be proven to consider. Qur’an doesn’t not mention it. The prophet while telling the only source of news for God did not mention it, which confirms that it is not true and it is only a conjecture.

Guidance from God still comes as per his promise that whoever strives hard in His ways He guides him. One can name it ilham but it is not a definite kind of ilham like wahi but a good idea or some external help to do good.

What sifia says is detrimental to the idea of Khatm e Nubuwwat and their claims are not true. Their power to know something extraordinary like reading a mind or telling past belong to parapsychology or Nafsani Uloom as Ghamidi saheb terms it. This is human domain of knowledge like a science.
