  • When Does New Day Start In Islamic Calendar

    Salaam,

I have heard from different people, that in Islam a new day is started after Maghrib. For example, 1st Taraweeh occurs after Maghrib before 1st Roza.

Is this correct? If so can someone please guide me as to why?

    JazakAllah!

That is correct. This is because in Islamic Months, the first day of each month is the day (beginning at sunset) of the first sighting of the hilal (crescent moon) shortly after sunset.
