    Assalamualaikum!
Isn’t the way to verify Sunnah based upon singular books of previous people of knowledge? And doesn’t that make this verification process based on khabr e waahid (endorsed by an author of a specific book)?

Like suppose if you exclude and remove all Muslim books (except The Holy Quran) which are all individual works, for a while, how would a Muslim scholar verify Sunnah?

(P.s I’ve given an overview to 23 questions series but my confusion remains)

I’d be grateful if one of our knowledgeable moderators reply.

    Jazak Allah.

Not had but the books of Fiqh are the historical documentary proof of the sunnah. It is the consensual practice and knowledge of the whole ummah which actually verifies an act to be a sunnah.

At the moment, from the east to west and north to south, wherever there are Muslims residing, if they’re following a particular Amal in their lives attributing it as part of deen, will it verify as Sunnah? (Even if don’t look into past books).
