Zakat On Government Benefits
Asalam u alaikum!
My daughter 17 yr old receives PIP (Personal Independent Payment) which is a benefit paid due to her health condition. It’s paid in my account and I use it for the expenses.
I need to know if I need to pay Zakat on it?
Also is zakat applicable on other benefits like child health benefit etc?

If your state exempts taxes from the benefit that they pay for your daughter then it is also exempt from zakat. Otherwise whatever amount remains in your bank after your daughter’s needs are met will be considered your asset and will be subject to your savings / assets zakat.
