In sura Mutaffafin Allah says that people should use their energies to compete for higher ranks in Aakhira rather than for lowly worldly riches which are short lived and transient.

This is of course a fact. But then what can be our motivation and reason for struggling to be successful in worldly life if it is lowly , brief, transient and a passing delight ?

Allah has put in human nature each and every thing that are needed to advance and succeed in this worldly life. Together with it He has also given people the intellect and wisdom to explore this nature, refine it and advance it. This is the reason that the quality of competing with others is also present in human nature.

In Surah Mutafafeen verse 26, instead of denying this human nature of going ahead of others and compete with them, Allah Almighty has encouraged this very nature and taught human being that the first thing to compete with is goodness and desire of success in final abode of Jannah.

It is the nature of human to compete others in worldly things, They surely will do it, this verse doesn’t want to discourage or suppress this nature, but to encourage this nature. This verse just teaches us that the top priority in competition should be goodness and desire for Heaven.

    As I understood!!
