This is no criterion to make God fulfill your wish. Istighfar means you are asking for forgiveness and darood means you ask God to send His blessings to the Prophet. After these good deeds, you may think that God would be pleased with you. Now you can make a dua for your wish. If you ask for it earnestly and humbly God may fulfil it if He finds it good for you.
