As for the poets, the erring follow them surah shura verse 224
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. Surah shuru 227
According to these verses is it forbidden to listen the poetry of non Muslim?

This is in comparison with the Quran because the opponents taunted that the prophet is just like other poets. God says that poetry is just a game of fantasy as compared to the facts that the Quran mentions.
Poetry, on the other hand, has its domain and is a thing to take pleasure in. It should not bring to confront the truth.

So if a non Muslim doesn’t bring his poetry in comparison with Quran it’s alright to listen to it?

Yes it is ok. When a thing is not objectionable it makes no difference it comes from Muslim or a non Muslim.

What if he uses it to tell his beliefs or speak about them

In that case we simply do not accept the message.
