Offsprings From A Polytheist Wife
AsalamoELaikum,
Orthodox muslim clerics consider marrying a polytheist “haram”, based on Quran 2:221
My question is in light of this, lets say a muslim man has done a court marriage with a hindu woman. Even God forbade this in Quran, no matter how sinful, Will this marriage be considered halal? Will there offsprings be considered “illegitimate”?
Please provide some references.

marriage is social contract. Though sinful, marriage is not invalid. Kids born of marriage are legitimate.
