Islam is a religion which tells you that a hereafter is waiting for you for which You need to purify yourself. For this purification correct beliefs and correct actions are prescribed.

Yes islam is not a religion in the conventional sense as the word itself is alien to the Qur’an rather it is a scholarly word that has caused confusion because everything now gets put in a hat with an umbrella term that are all seen the same, Christianity, Hinduism, devil worship etc they are all seen the same because of this word when islam is a deen, which is more encompassing than the definition of ‘religion’.
