    Salam.
I know Allah has forbidden to drink Alcohol and made it haram. However, somebody is quite addicted to it and due to that addiction that person is not able to leave this habit. He knows that it is haram and believes it with his whole heart but is weak inside and is not able to leave this habit of his.

He also tries weak heartedely tries to leave but fails all the time.

Is he having a rebellious attitude as he is disobeying a clear and direct command of allah. Is he a (Sarkash)?

If he is trying to quit and admits it is wrong then it can’t be a rebellious behavior. Also you said that he is addicted now. If so, then it is a medical case. Also to my understanding, consumption of Alcohol itself is not a sin (or not a big sin) but it leads to committing sins.

Coming alcohol is a sin in itself, too. It makes one insane, therefore God doesn’t allow to say prayer or even come close to it in the state of intoxication.

Man without sanity is not a human and this is violation of the purpose of creation of man.

It is not a rebellious attitude however it is only his conscience that knows if he is making any excuse for it or not.

One should keep trying to quit it as it is really necessary to come clean as demanded by God.

Got it. But what does actually constitute rebellious behaviour?

Not admitting one is wrong, being persistent on doing the HARAM(whatever it is) and justifying one’s actions?

Please explain what does the word that Ghamidi sahib often use Sarkashi or rebellious attitude actually means?

When one goes rebellious one knows it. One does not bother to give excuses or does not accept advice and does something bad or evil despite knowing the fact that something is sinful or unethical.
