Yes, Muslim and non Muslim relatives can inherit from each other.
It was only in the time of the holy prophet when all the ties with non Muslim relatives were broken because, the punishment of God was going to befall on the disbelievers. Then inheritance was made forbidden for non Muslim relatives. It was not a permanent directive.
