Dear Ghamidi Sahib. With growing social unrest, a hypocrite life and less inclination towards religion, an unusual trend in suicides has been witnessed in our society. I, am too a victim if this scourge. My nephew, a very successful businessman and a lively young man succumbed to this unrealistic desire of ending his life on issues that concerned his separation with wife and indifference of his young children towards him, whom he loved more than himself.

If religious scholars or Aalim Deen, as you are, do not take up this issue as their responsibility towards society and educate the young generation, God knows how many wonderful souls will be lost to this menace.

A separate program or a series of 1, 2 or three programs may be required on this important subject. Particularly, when the Quran offers no particular punishment for this crime and there is no sunnah in this regard as none of the prophets disciple indulged him or herself in such act.

God, rewards the intent. Before we categorically brand such death as Haram, we have to see it in the perception of God’s mercy. Because anyone doing such harm to him or herself, must be in a state where the mind may have had lost the ability to think. The psychological factors overrule the mind, and take away his thinking capacity. Deep depression forces him to exit this uneasy and unbearable situation by ending his own life.

Mercy, is from God, and for Man. The element of Mercy cannot be eradicated in any form or circumstances. God, nodoubt is the best judge and He is ever forgiving.

    Thank you
