Suppose if one has fantasies that are not right (e.g oral sex). Is it a requirement for one to hate these desires in order to achieve tazkiya that is required for Jannah? OR is purified belief and purified deeds good enough?

    Keeping this verse in mind:
……But Allah has endeared faith to you, making it appealing in your hearts. And He has made disbelief, rebelliousness, and disobedience detestable to you……(Qur’an 49:7)

Meaning it seems such disobeying desires should be detestable to a believer. But then there is also these kind of narrations:

…..Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has forgiven my Ummah for what is whispered to them or what enters their minds, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.

These are two different things. To believe and disbelieve are ideological decisions. For example, one hates to go against a political party one has joined after a conscious decision.

But sins are attractive and tempting naturally. One is required to abstain from them. The idea of sin makes ones hate commiting a sin but the things and the acts in themselves stay attractive.
