  • A Muslim Actor’S Role As A Non Muslim

    Assalamualaikum!

In the video that I have attached, Mufti Saheb is of the opinion that a Muslim actor cannot play a role of a Non Muslim in the films and dramas due to the fact that it is prohibited to use symbolisms (شعائر) of other religions such that they blur the line of who the person actually is. He also seems to suggest that if a Muslim does play such a role, he/she won’t be declared a murtad but will be asked to do tajdeed e Iman and tajdeed e nikah and would be counted as extremely sinful.

What is the right approach in this case?

    Jazak Allah.

It is just narrating a story. If You narrate a story of a character you do not participate in his actions, but narrating it. the same is the case with acting.

One may play a role of a non Muslim but one should not perform the act of Shirk like prostrating to an idol or praying to it.
