One should first know what is wrong with silk.
It is not the silk itself but being very expensive and worn by rich people to show off, back then, therefore it was as disapproved especially for men to wear it.
This is not a case now anymore. It is not a status symbol anymore.
As far as prayer is concerned it has nothing to do what kind of clothes one is wearing so far as they cover the body.
