  • Constricting Bridge/Culvert Over Grave For Paving Way To The Road?

We have a grave in our courtyard. Neighbours are asking to give them a road to travel along. We can’t destroy the grave as it isn’t permissible. Can we however keep the grave as such and build a bridge/culvert over it so that grave remains intact and bottom of the bridge keeps some gap with the grave? The bridge will be along road alignment. The people will walk over bridge and will not be in contact with the grave

There is no restrictions if the graves are demolished. Graves are not sacred. It is just human emotions that are associated with them. If there is need for the convenience of the people you may adopt anyway to do the task.

Please back your assertion with Quran or Shahi Hadith / Sunnah!

It is the other way round. In the absence of any instruction from Qur’an or hadith, one cannot assume sanctity of graves that they can’t be demolished.

If it was necessary to tell the Muslims to keep the graves intact forever, it must be told. Since there is no instructions so we are free to make any decisions appropriate.
