Can we prison animals for earning and our pleasure like Zoo or can cage birds all their life for our pleasure?

Zulm is Zulm, no matter if it is done with humans or animals. Every pain given to animals will hold man accountable to God in His court of justice. It is reported in some traditions that God sent a woman to hell for starving her cat to death. The prophet reminded the people to take care of their animals.

Keeping animals in zoos or cages is cruel. They have the right to have their natural habitats.

JazakAllah khair for the response. Indeed it is zulm

If you remember the reference of that tradition then please share as it will help my sister who is not willing to understand that and keeping burds in small cage and claim that she knows it’s allowed in Islam.

    Many thanks, ma’as salam.

Beware that the birds which are raised in cages becomes vulnerable and do not know how to live independently. If you set them free without their proper training they do not survive.

      You are right indeed.

To discourage this bird business we must not buy any caged bird. It’s zulm indeed. Them are created to live free in natural world.

If I remember correctly Sir Javed Ahmed Ghamidi sahab also mentioned one narrative about prophet Muhammad pbuh ( SAW) that he forbade a person from tying his dog in his home.( taught animals right)

A wrong can be judged by our conscience. Islam doesn’t allow any wrong.

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A woman entered the Hellfire because of a cat or kitten she had imprisoned. She did not let it eat, nor release it to eat the vermin of the earth, until it died emaciated.”
