    Assalamualaikum!

Ghamidi Saheb says that Yazeed didn’t take Qisaas from Ibne Ziyaad as punishing your own appointees can initiate a reaction and there will come a time that no one would be willing to take any responsibility.

    1. Since he gave a political reason, does he believe that this was an ideal behavior from Yazeed?

    2. After explaining political reason, why didn’t Ghamidi Saheb bother explaining that what steps should he have taken against those responsible in the light of Shariah?

    3. If the political reason mentioned by Ghamidi Saheb is considered accurate, then did this action of no Qisaas ACTUALLY prove to be settling the issue? Because we know for a historical fact that this incident initiated a wave of rebellions again Banu Ummaiyyah and eventually the empire fell after within a century.

    Jazak Allah.

When such kind of case happens even today a committee is appointed to investigate all the facts. The history did not record the viewpoint of Ibn ziyaad and Ibn e Saad.

In politics ideal measures are taken but possible and appropriate measure are taken.

There is no compaign for Husain against Banu Ummayya except for a short one, of Tawwabeen. Alwi aspirants used their lineage as a merit to claim caliphate. It was Banu Abbas who defeated Banu umayyah. The main factor in their success was non Arabs who wanted Alwis to be caliphs as a political party of theirs and ensure their stake in the government.
