Fear Of ‘Nushus’
I have searched the forum for the answer to the following question but wasn’t able to find it. Verse 4:34 Quran is mentioning about the 3 stage actions (including beating) by husbands against their wives on the fear of Nushus.
My question is that how is it justified to take these actions up to a point of beating only based on the ‘fear’? It’s not even proven she has done anything wrong, just the fear of that gives husband this authority?

Take the example, if you fear you son will get addicted to drugs, stop him.
At such occasion the word, fear is not just a notion but there is a certain behaviour which justifies taking preventive measures.
