I have recently seen a video where Ustad Javed Ghamidi Sir was telling to stop being moral police and dont tell people what to do about their acts related to religion . But as far as I know Quran is saying that
Amar bil maaroof wa nahi Anil Munkar

The term used for religious duties is amr o nahi. Maroof, on the other hand, is the universal ethics and morals and Munkar is universal immorality or unethical acts. Everyone has to perform this duty according to one’s jurisdiction. A ruler or police for example performs it with authority, while a common person suggests and advises.
