if a man approaches the family of a girl to get her hand in marriage. and her parents put forward a condition that he must make a promise that while their daughter will be his wife, he won’t be taking second wife. if divorce or death of their daughter happens, then he may do another marriage but not while she’s still the wife.

so if that man promises or thinks of making this promise, will it be sinful as under making something Haram which Allah has made Halal?? as was mentioned in an ayah regarding prophet when he swears of not taking honey

To promise not to do something is not making something haram. These are two different things.

@Irfan76 sir then how will it be different to like prophet taking oath not to eat something honey again, if that was termed as making it Haram on ownself then for example if a dying wife takes a promise from her husband that after my death you’ll never marry again and he promises it. which means that he won’t marry for the rest of his life. so is this second scenario analogous to example of prophet where he took oath he’ll not have honey? then Allah corrected the prophet in the Quran…

It was the status of the prophet which could make a thing haram in the eyes if the people if he had declared not to eat it. See the note of Albayan on this verse by Ghamidi saheb.
