In one of the videos of ghamidi sahab, he said that molana Ashraf Ali Thanavi wrote in behashti zevar that women should be taught only to read but not to write otherwise they will start to write loveletters. Please if someone has that clip share it and also can anyone provide reference from behashti zevar where it is written bcz I have find very opposite views in behashti zevar.

It is from Molana Ashraf Ali Thanwi’s book “Mawaiz-e-AshrafiyaVolume 04, Page 206.

Following is the translation of the excerpt in English:

If we want to educate our women, then; As a first step, we should immediately stop all novels and magazines in our homes. Due to these, terrible incidents have taken place in good respectable homes. Secondly, don’t teach women how to write. If you have to teach them out of necessity, then be very careful that they should not write letters to Na-Mahram men. Some girls write letters to their brothers-in-law, their male cousins, etc. There should be a total restraint on this. Others write letters for all the people in the locality. At times they end up in Haraam relationships with men, which becomes a means of great fitnah.
