If a person asks his wife to love him back or he’ll set her on fire, it’ll mean he didn’t love her in true sense.

Then how come God asks us to love Him or He’ll burn us in hell, while he loves us.

Loving someone like a spouse is not the ‘universal true sense’ of love. A parent does not love his child like a spouse, this does not make the love of not ‘true sense.’ The nature of love differs. Love between husband and wife is different, love between parent and child is different, love between king and his people is different and love between all-powerful independent God and weak dependent creation is DEFINITELY different.

God is not our spouse. He has no need for us, He can do whatever He wants with us. Powerless, dependent, creation of God like us are completely in debt to Him and answerable to Him (so we can’t set anyone on fire because He has made it forbidden for us) but He is answerable to no one. After understanding that, now try to understand the relationship of God with man:
