Night Journey Of Our Prophet (SAW)
Ghamidi Sb in his “Aitrazaat Series” has mentioned that the Night Journey of our Prophet (SAW) mentioned in Surah Isra was a Roya (dreams of prophets).
My questions are:
1) Roya of prophets were common as shown to our Prophet (SAW) on several occasions. Then why this time in the opening ayat of Surah Isra it is mentioned “*Glory be to Allah* Who did take His Servant for Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose precincts We did Bless in order that We might show him some of Our Signs”.
2) Secondly, it tells the journey was made to show some signs. If in a dream something needs to be shown what is the purpose of mentioning that it requires a journey?
3) And lastly, why it cannot be that it was his soul only that had been transported, leaving behind his body, since he saw the passing caravan during the night, as reported in the Hadith. In Roya, that which is shown is/are allegorical, as about the number of Salaat during his journey to the Heavens as mentioned in Hadith, but here he narrated actually what he saw about the passing caravan the following morning.
Please clarify.
