  • Marriage Decision When Fiance Has A Life Threatening Disease

Posted by Noor Fatima on August 19, 2024 at 7:35 am

My Fiance is diagnosed with glioblastoma (A malignant brain tumor) which has poor survival rates. My parents (as kind and good hearted they are) cannot accept the fact that their daughter might be a widow in a few years. While I know its a grave reality people with this diagnosis live a few years after diagnosis. But I don’t wanna leave someone in a vulnerable state. What should I do. I Really really need guidance. Please

It is all your decision. If you think you can give him a few years of happiness and can afford to be a widow afterwards, and won’t complain, you can do this act of kindness. It looks great but practically it is very hard.

And if you choose to it avoid it you have a valid reason to do it. There is ethical obligation on you. If you have kid or kids they will become orphan and it won’t be their choice.

Further, your fiance has an ethical obligation. He should not make you a part of his misfortune. A misfortune of one should not become a misfortune for others.

May God help you and your family in making a good decision.
