Amruhum Shura Bainahum:Selection Of Umar (rta) And Fight Against Zakat Rejectors
Assalamualaikum
Ghamidi sahab said that among muslims things should be done by consultation (amruhum shuura bainahum)but in history we get some events where sahaba apparently did against it.For example:Abu Bakr R.A chose Umar R.A as second caliph,some said that he is aggressive,but Abu Bakr R.A chose him and another event like fight against deniers of zakaat(munkareen e zakaat),many sahaba tried to stop Abu Bakr R.A but without any consultation he did this?

Regarding fight against rejectors of Zakat: Hazrat Abubakr (rta) was elected in accordance with Principle of ‘Amruhum Shura Bainahum‘, which gave him administrative power and executive authority of certain state matters. And not all executive matters require approval of Parliament’s majority. Even in today’s time, head of the state has many executive powers at his disposal for which he requires no prior-approval and which are much needed for smooth running of the government. The fight against Zakat Rejectors falls in this category where war was fought to take back the right of the state.
