Can we pay tribute by placing a garland on a photo and lighting candles or diyas 🪔 without the intention of worship for a non-Muslim? Three days ago, we lost our nation’s most beloved singer, Zubeen Garg.

As a mark of respect, people from all communities—Hindu, Muslim, Christian—without considering caste or religion, have been lighting candles and small oil lamps 🪔. The intention is not worship, but simply to honor him.

He was a person who always said, “I don’t belong to any religion or caste, I am just human.” Though his religion was Sanatan, we never saw him speak badly about any faith. He dedicated his life to the poor and was always helping others. He once said that if he ever left his profession, he would never be able to forgive himself for it

“It is a kind request; if possible, please reply soon. I will be thankful.
