Did Allah Asked Abraham To Slaughter Ismail
Ghamidi sahb in surah safaat tafseer said that Allah never ask abraham to kill his son and the meaning of the dream was to prepare his son for the sacrifices he is going to give. But in Surah Baqarah Ghamidi sahab referred to it as a test? Also in surah safaat tafseer Ghamidi sahab said:
اُس سے یہ دیکھنا مقصود بھی تھا کہ وہ تاویل کرتے “ہیں یا فی الواقع ذبح کرنے کے لیے تیار ہو جاتے ہیں
so it was a test But it was test whether he will interpret the dream or will he act upon it literally??? and not the test of whether he will kill or he won’t?
Also ghamdii sahab said the same thing below
اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ اُن کے اِسی اقدام پر غایت درجہ محبت اور تحسین و آفرین کے اظہار کے لیے فرمایا ہے کہ ابراہیم تم نے خواب کو سچ کر دکھایا ہے۔ اِس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ حکم جس طریقے سے دیا گیا تھا، اُس میں یہی رویہ کمال عبدیت کے زیادہ قریب تھا اور اُس سے یہ دیکھنا مقصود بھی تھا کہ وہ تاویل کرتے ہیں یا فی الواقع ذبح کرنے کے لیے تیار ہو جاتے ہیں۔ آگے اِسی بنا پر فرمایا ہے کہ یہ کھلی آزمایش تھی اور ابراہیم اُس میں ہر لحاظ سے کامیاب رہے۔

It was a test of his loyalty. When he took it literally God didn’t stop him until at the end, to see his total submission to the will of God.
