There’s no religious injunction which states that one is required to take a ceremonial bath (‘ghusl‘) before going near one’s wife a second time.
However, Prophet Muhammad (sws) did recommend wudu before going off to sleep at night and urge other people also to do it (Source: https://sunnah.com/bukhari:247). In particular, he would like and urge people to do wudu in the state of janabah before sleeping (Source: https://sunnah.com/bukhari:288), eating food (Source: https://sunnah.com/muslim:360a) and going near one’s wife a second time (Source: https://sunnah.com/muslim:308).
These are all recommended acts, but not religious injunctions.
