Religious Status Of Fatawa Of Sahaba RA
Assalamualaikum
What’s the stance of Ghamidi sahab on the fatawa of Sahaba? If on a thing he has a fatwa of some Sahabi then what’s his stance? And if there are more than one fatwas of different Sahabas then what’s his stance?

Their verdict (fatwa) is to be analyse in the light of Quran and sunnah according the principles Ghamidi sahib has laid down in his book Meezan. Same has been the practice of all the jurists. If a fatwas qualifies the analysis, it is accepted and if any flaw in the understanding is detected, it is rejected or partially accepted. Same is done between two different verdicts of the companions. both can be rejected or one may be accepted.

What do you think, any sahabi is not able to understand the stance of prophet but we’re?
If Hazrat Ayesha ra said Prophet can’t see God, then can someone reject this fatwa?
In addition, if any sahabi has listened any order directly from Prophet pbuh, can we reject sahabi understanding on that matter.

Among the dhanni [non-definite] sources of knowledge, Ahadith and Athar occupy the highest status. If their authenticity could have been fully relied upon, they would have had the same importance as the Sunnat-i Mutawatirah. However, since Ahadith and Athar do not possess this degree of authenticity, they can only be benefited from as far as they are found to be in conformity with the Quran and Sunnah.

The difference of opinions among the companions it itself an evidence that some of them could not understand correctly. They criticised and disagree with each other on certain matters of comprehension and understanding. This does not affect the religion. This is the matter of scholarly understanding of a problem.
